Carrier acceptance

Dangerous goods transport starts with a shipment review

GCC Cargo Service coordinates dangerous goods shipping enquiries from Dubai and the UAE, including classification information review, packing and documentation coordination, and air or sea carrier acceptance. Service availability is assessed for the exact cargo and route before booking.

Review the product before booking

Share the exact product description, manufacturer information and current Safety Data Sheet where available. This provides a starting point for reviewing transport classification and identifying information that is still needed.

Match the shipment to the transport mode

Review air or sea options using the classification, quantities, origin and destination. A product accepted on one service is not automatically accepted on another; confirm the proposed route and carrier before dispatch.

Coordinate suitable packing and identification

Arrange a review of packing, marks and labels against the requirements applicable to the shipment. Existing retail packaging should not be assumed suitable for regulated transport without review.

Prepare consistent shipment documents

Coordinate the required transport documents and available invoice and packing information. The product description, quantities and packing details should be checked for consistency before submission.

Confirm carrier acceptance in advance

Submit the necessary information for the proposed carrier review before arranging handover. Acceptance and the final schedule depend on the exact cargo, route, capacity and applicable restrictions.

Connect handling, customs and delivery

Define the collection, terminal handling, customs support and delivery scope together. Review special handling and handover requirements with the parties involved before cargo movement begins.

Dangerous goods shipping questions

How do I know whether my cargo is dangerous goods?

Classification depends on the product properties and the rules for the intended transport mode. Ask the manufacturer or supplier for transport information and an SDS where available. Do not classify a product from its trade name or appearance alone; unresolved classification needs competent review before booking.

Is a Safety Data Sheet enough to ship dangerous goods?

Not necessarily. An SDS can support the review, but additional product, classification, packing or transport information may be required. Some articles do not have an SDS. Correct classification and the shipment-specific documents and carrier acceptance must still be confirmed.

Can every dangerous goods class be shipped by air or sea?

No blanket acceptance applies. Suitability depends on the substance or article, classification, quantities, packaging, route and carrier restrictions. The examples shown on this page do not imply automatic acceptance of those materials.

What determines dangerous goods shipping cost?

The quote depends on the cargo classification, quantity, packed dimensions and weight, route, transport mode and packing or handling needs. Document review, carrier charges, collection, clearance support and delivery may be separate items. Request an itemised assessment after the cargo information is reviewed.

What should I send for a dangerous goods shipment assessment?

Provide the product description, manufacturer information, SDS where available, and any confirmed UN number, proper shipping name, class and packing group where applicable. Include quantities per package, package count, dimensions, gross weight, packing photographs, origin, destination and ready date. Do not guess missing classification details.
