Container types & shipping specifications
Explore the main container options and review dimensions and weights when planning your shipment. Use this guide as a starting point before requesting a quotation.
Standard dry container
For general cargo that does not require temperature control. Common sizes are 20 and 40 feet.
High Cube container
Provides extra height for higher-volume cargo. A standard High Cube is 1 foot taller than a standard-height container.
Flat Rack container
Suitable for machinery and oversized cargo requiring open sides or top access. Dimensions, weight and securing arrangements must be checked before booking.
Open Top container
Allows loading from above and can accommodate over-height cargo, subject to carrier approval and equipment limits.
Refrigerated container (Reefer)
Used for temperature-sensitive cargo. Internal space and specifications differ from dry containers because of insulation and cooling equipment.
Tank container
Designed for compatible liquid cargo. Tank selection depends on the product, operating requirements and carrier acceptance.
In-gauge & out-of-gauge cargo
In Gauge: cargo within the permitted dimensional envelope of the selected equipment.
Out of Gauge (OOG): cargo exceeding a permitted length, width or height, requiring technical review and special shipping arrangements.
